CNBC is expanding its relationship with business investor Marcus Lemonis, star of its successful show The Profit and giving him another called The Partner. On the new show, Lemonis is looking for the perfect person to help him manage the companies he’s invested in on The Profit (after the cameras stop rolling). Thousands were invited for the chance to compete for the position but Lemonis chose just ten candidates to travel to Chicago. In The Partner series premiere, all ten arrive in the Windy City and have their communications skills tested. “I’m not looking for an employee, I’m looking for a leader.” The winner will get a $500,000 contract and equity in his multi-million dollar business.
One of the ten potential partners is Peilin Pratt. When they meet in person, Marcus tells her he used to buy pounds of candy from her e-commerce business, CandyWarehouse. Peilin explains that her husband started the business 18 years ago while she, a Harvard Law School graduate, was working at one the highest-grossing law firms in the world, Skadden Arps. The Partner airs Tuesdays at 10pm on CNBC.
