Nominated for Best Artist of the Year, country singer Brandy Clark will perform at the GRAMMYs (February 8, 8pm on CBS). The organizers of the show asked her to come up with a list of 8 names of world class singers she’d like to perform with and “make a GRAMMY moment.” Dwight Yoakam was one of those names (they recently toured together) and he was the GRAMMYs first choice.
Before performing together at the GRAMMYs, Clark voiced a little nervousness. “Am I cool enough to stand on stage with this guy?” she asked herself. In a separate interview, Yoakam said he always enjoyed listening to Clark’s melodies before going on stage when they were on tour together. “Her instincts are spot on, and exceptional, so she should just listen to herself.”
