The BBC TV show Sherlock has gotten the green light for a fourth series (in the US we call it a season). Filming will begin in 2015. Fans may find it difficult to wait but, in the interim, they can download the Sherlock app – The Network – and help him solve ten new cases. Arthur Conan Doyle would be amazed.
Sherlock is a global sensation, especially in China where the actor in the title role, Benedict Cumberbatch, has been nicknamed Curly Fu. North Korea joins world opinion also when it comes to Sherlock, if on little else. The UK government successfully screened Sherlock at the 2012 Pyongyang International Film Festival — a rare opportunity for North Koreans to watch selected Western titles, organized by Koryo Tours, which has exclusive rights to bring tourists to the festival. British flicks that have made the cut at the Pyongyang Festival in the past include “Bend It Like Beckham” and “Mr. Bean.”
