Funnyman Seth MacFarlane is the creator and star of the new comedy-drama The Orville. Orville is a spaceship filled with a crew of humans and aliens. It looks like Star Trek but it’s a sitcom about a man who struggles with his emotions after his divorce and is surrounded by a group of goofy co-workers. In the premiere episode “Old Wounds,” Ed Mercer (MacFarlane) is excited about his promotion to captain but not so much when his ex-wife Kelly Grayson is assigned first officer.
Kelly Grayson is portrayed by Adrianne Palicki. She’s known for her roles on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Bobbi Morse), About a Boy (Dr. Samantha Lake), Friday Night Lights (Tyra Collette), Lone Star (Cat Thatcher), Supernatural (Jessica Moore), and South Beach (Briana), among others. Palicki is also known for her roles in the films John Wick (Ms. Perkins), G.I. Joe: Retaliation (Jaye), and the 2012 Red Dawn (Toni Walsh). Fun fact about Palicki: The almost 5’11 actress played basketball and ran track in high school and was runner up for homecoming queen. The Orville airs Sundays at 8pm on FOX.
