Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow and investor Gary Landesberg have bought the old Hustler store on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. They are tearing down the legendary sex toy shop in order to build a members-only club similar to The Arts Club in London. Membership costs $3,000 a year and a $3,000 one-time payment to sign-up.
Hot Octopuss, the maker of sex toys including PULSE II SOLO, is trying to shake up Paltrow’s new venture “and shun dancing for mincing.” Adam Lewis, founder of Hot Octopuss, said: “We’re committed to making the sex industry as buoyant as possible and urge Gwynnie not to shut down one of LA’s most famous sex shops. To show the ex-Mrs Martin the power of sex toys, we’ve sent her our PULSE II DUO in the hope she’ll be inviting a different kind of member. Perhaps there will now be a conscious re-coupling on the cards. Gwyneth, join our sexual revolution and make love, not clubs.” Hot Octopuss would also like to remind everyone that May is National Masturbation Month. And you almost missed it.
