Hollywood triple-threat –singer, dancer, actor — Zendaya graces the cover of Vogue, again. The 22-year-old fashionista is rocking a 1920s flapper look with a flapper finger wave hairdo and a Gilded Age gold pleated sequin dress — complete with a jaw-dropping plunging neckline. Tapping the early 20th century fashion inspiration, the modern young star looks older — in a chic way — and hella sophisticated.
The dress is by Ralph Lauren Collection. Model Bella Hadid first modeled the dress at Ralph Lauren’s Spring/Summer 19 show at New York Fashion Week (see below).
The headline on the cover of Vogue is a quote from her interview: “I was honest-to-god terrified” says the 22-year-old actress of her “riskiest role yet.” The Disney star (KC Undercover, Shake It Up!) is referring to her challenging role in HBO’s new series Euphoria. Zendaya plays Rue, a recovering (and relapsing) drug addict in a modern-day high school. Euphoria premieres on HBO on Saturday, June 16.
Euphoria showrunner Sam Levinson said, “There’s a way Z can vacillate between seeming extremely tough and extremely vulnerable, and it’s all in her face,” Levinson explains. “She can flip on a dime.” Canadian-born rapper Drake is one of the executive producers.
When not filming Euphoria, Zendaya is promoting her TommyxZendaya collection, or shooting a advertising campaign for her new client Lancome: she just became the cosmetic giant’s youngest global ambassador.
