On the Star episode “FUA…Good Night!,’ the girls practice for a TV appearance but then find out they’re singing backup instead of headlining, and Carlotta (Queen Latifah) meets with new A&R executive, Maurice Jetter.
Maurice is portrayed by Lance Gross. He’s known for his roles on Sleepy Hollow (Daniel Reynolds), Grey’s Anatomy (Dr. Ethan Boyd), Crisis (Agent Marcus Finley), and Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (Calvin Payne) — see link above, among others. Gross is also recognized for his roles in the films Our Family Wedding (Marcus Boyd) and Meet the Browns (Michael). And yes, Gross will reprise his role as Calvin for The Paynes in 2018. Star airs Wednesdays at 9pm on FOX.
