One of the sweetest stories on My 600-lb Life featured 47-year-old Milla Shawn Clark of Fayetteville, Tennessee. Weighing 750lbs., Milla was bedridden for two years before she found the strength to lose 100 lbs. so she could have a massive lymphedema on her leg removed. (It weighed 43 lbs.) Once she was able to stand, she lost another 50 lbs. and had gastric bypass surgery performed by renowned weight loss surgeon Dr. Nowzaradan. She couldn’t have done it without her sweet, supportive husband Elroy, and their five children. On the show, Elroy said when he met Milla (right after high school), her weight (about 350lb. at the time) was never really a problem for him. Milla said of her husband: “I was so in love with Elroy. I forgot I was fat for a minute.”
