Howard Stern was back on SiriusXm radio on Monday, assessing things as only Stern can: with a seasoned showbiz seen-it-all wisdom about what people really want. Stern says what people really want is Donald Trump. At least he says that Trump is what Republicans want. Howard says Donald Trump — longtime friend of The Howard Stern Show, btw — will be the GOP nominee.

How does he know? Stern points out what others seem to be missing — the allure of pure star power. Stern has seen all the stars (for years) and he knows that perception and image trump, so to speak, content. “I’ll tell you why I think he’s going to be the nominee. He’s proven that no matter what he says, people dig him,” Stern said. People want success. They think Trump is successful, and so it follows… But almost as soon as Stern said it didn’t matter what Trump said, the radio king revealed that maybe it actually is what Trump is saying that makes him popular: “I also think that a lot of people are of the mind that they hate illegal immigrants but they just feel funny saying it,” Stern said. Trump is way ahead in all the polls.
