It must be because it’s January (traditionally the Dead Zone for movies) and because the marketing people are both bored at work and still on a sugar high from all the treats from the holiday season. That can be the only reason for all this ant-sized trailers, human-sized trailers and trailers-for-other-trailers nonsense. First there was the Ant-Man Official Ant-Sized Teaser Trailer, then the human-sized version (both of which were simply to get you to watch Agent Carter (during which you can see yet another Antman teaser trailer; the “World Teaser Premiere”, in fact). Now we have the announcement from Marvel that very soon we will see another trailer for The Avengers: The Age of Ultron. Yes, it’s a trailer for a trailer.
Mark January 12th on your calendar, and make sure you’re tuned into ESPN, because then you’ll see it. We hope. Unless of course that trailer turns out to be just another tease.
