Former Charlie’s Angels actress Jaclyn Smith is starring in a Hallmark original movie, Bridal Wave. Smith plays Felice, the sophisticated mother of the groom, Dr. Phillip Hamilton (David Hayden-Jones). Phillip is a dashing young prominent plastic surgeon who’s engaged to working class Georgie Dwyer (Arielle Kebbel). Smith’s character doesn’t think Georgie is good enough for her Phillip.
The plot of Bridal Wave is very similiar to Monster-in-Law, the 2005 comedy starring Jane Fonda as the sophsticated mother of her doctor son (Michael Vartan) who doesn’t approve of his working class fiancee (Jennifer Lopez). Jaclyn Smith isn’t as merciless as Jane Fonda but she proves she can be just as bitchy. Bridal Wave premieres on Lifetime, Saturday, January 17 at 9pm.
