Leonard Nimoy (Dr. Spock) and William Shatner (Captain Kirk) have agreed to reunite in Star Trek 3. You would think it would be the best news of the day for Star Trek 3 producer J.J. Abrams, but it isn’t. Abrams also announced today that he’ll be working with legendary author Stephen King. They’re making a TV mini-series based on King’s novel 11/22/63.
In other Star Trek news, actor Chris Pine who played Captain Kirk in Abrams’ 2009 Star Trek and 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness, is flashing his bare bottom and twerking proudly in a trailer for his new film Stretch. Pine plays an eccentric billionaire entrepreneur who has just been dumped by his girlfriend (Brooklyn Decker). In the trailer, his limo driver (Patrick Wilson) finds Pine disoriented after a parachute landing. Pine is wearing a jumper of sorts, chaps with buttocks exposed and a stuffed animal backpack. Jessica Alba co-stars, she plays the driver’s dispatcher. Stretch will be released on VOD on October 14.
