On the Mexican Dynasties episode “A Star Is Torn,” while Adan auditions for La Voz (the Spanish version of American talent show The Voice), Doris adjusts to working at home. Her biggest distraction is her client, her newly-widowed mother Raquel Bessudo. Raquel is a TV show host and considered by some as the “Grand Dame of Beauty” in Mexico. After 58 years of marriage, her husband Leon Bessudo died in 2018.

Raquel met Leon when she was 16 — he was seven years older – and they married one year later. They had three children together: Doris, Patricia and Isaac. (Isaac died tragically at the age of 13 in an accident.) Leon died due to complications from Parkinson’s disease and diabetes. He was 79. Mexican Dynasties airs Tuesdays at 10 pm on Bravo.
