In the Season 2 premiere episode of Midnight, Texas, “Head Games”, the big news is that there’s a new hotel opening in town. It’s called Crystal Desert and the owner is Kai Lucero (Nestor Carbonell, Bates Motel). He’s not your regular Texan businessman — he’s a holistic energy healer, too. His wife Patience Lucero befriends the Midnighters and warms up quickly to Manfred (François Arnaud).
Patience is portrayed by Jaime Ray Newman. She’s known for her roles on Imposters (Linda), The Magicians (Irene McAllistair), The Punisher (Sarah Lieberman, see photo below), Major Crimes (Wildred Darnell), Bates Motel with Nestor Carbonell! (Rebecca Hamilton), Drop Dead Diva (Vanessa), Eastwick (Kat), Veronica Mars (Mindy), and General Hospital (Kristina Cassadine), among many others. Newman will appear next on the big screen in the 2019 film Valley of the Gods opposite Josh Hartnett and John Malkovich. Midnight, Texas airs Fridays at 9 pm on NBC, right after Blindspot and right before Dateline.
