On the Madam Secretary episode “The Things We Get to Say,” Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord (Téa Leoni) deals with a refugee situation. She’s dealt with similar crises but not with a reporter following her every move and listening to every conversation she’s a part of. Newspaper reporter Neal Shin is shadowing her for a profile story that he’s writing. He might even use his new access to write a tell-all book. Note: Politicians do not like tell-all books.

Neil Shin is portrayed by Tim Kang. He’s known for his roles on The Vampire Diaries (Oscar), The Mentalist (Agent Kimball Cho), The Unit (Chaplain Alan Lantz), and Third Watch (Detective Kent Yoshihara), among others. Madam Secretary airs Sundays at 10pm on CBS, right after NCIS: Los Angeles.
