In the Hallmark Channel movie The Convenient Groom, Dr. Kate Lawrence is a celebrity relationship expert who is about to face public humiliation when her fiancé Bryan breaks up with her right before the wedding. Luckily for Kate, her childhood friend Lucas Wright (David Sutcliffe) is there to help protect her image. Lucas goes as far as pretending to be Kate’s fiancé… until he becomes her new fiancé.
Kate is portrayed by Vanessa Marcil. She’s known for her roles on General Hospital (Brenda Barrett), Without a Trace (Kim Marcus), Lipstick Jungle (Josie Scotto), Las Vegas (Sam Marquez), and Beverly Hills, 90210 (Gina Kincaid), among others. Marcil is also recognized for her role in the 1996 film The Rock (Carla, Nicolas Cage’s pregnant girlfriend). The Convenient Groom will premiere on June 18 at 9pm on Hallmark Channel. It will air again on June 19 at 3pm, June 25 at 7pm, and June 26 at 11am.
