Season 22 of Dancing with the Stars is coming to an end. On May 24, one of the three celebrity finalists — Ginger Zee, Paige VanZant, and Nyle DiMarco — will be named the winner. But before the Mirror Ball Trophy is bestowed, the audience will be entertained by a number of professional singers and dancers including Pitbull, Fifth Harmony, Fleur East, and Aloe Blacc who will sing his hit single “Let The Games Begin.” The single was featured in the 2016 film Race, the biopic about Olympic track and field hero Jesse Owens.
Aloe Blacc (born Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins) is also known for his singles “I Need a Dollar” and for writing and singing on Swedish DJ Avicii’s single “Wake Me Up.” He grew up in Laguna Hills, California, where in the third grade he started to play the trumpet. His debut album Lift Your Spirit, which was partially produced by hitmaker Pharrell Williams, was nominated for Best R&B Album at the 2015 Grammys. He lost to 7-time Grammy winner Toni Braxton and 11-time Grammy winner Babyface for their collaborative album Love, Marriage & Divorce. (They’re hard to beat.) The finale of Dancing with the Stars will air Tuesdays, May 24 at 9pm on ABC.
