Music executive Andy Gershon has been to a lot of concerts. He started his own business in 1988 Coffer/Gershon Management (Echo & The Bunnymen, Cocteau Twins) before joining Geffen Records’ Outpost Recordings (Ryan Adams). Gershon later became President of Virgin’s V2 Records (Moby, The White Stripes) and EVP at Sony and Epic Records. But Gershon is more than a money guy, he’s a photographer, too.
Artist Andy Gershon has scanned and edited photographs he’s taken of his massive collection of concert ticket stubs. From 1978 to 1994, he obsessively collected the torn bits of memorabilia. He’s created a nostaglic, pop-up exhibition which will be shown at Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles. Gershon’s Musical Archive will be on view Saturday, June 11 (11am to 8pm); and Sunday – Tuesday, June 12-14 (12-4pm). A reception is being held to benefit MusiCares on Sunday, June 12, 12-4pm.
