In the Duck Dynasty episode “Toad to Perdition,” while Willie Robertson competes against his wife in a “frogging” competition as a way of bonding, Willie’s son John Luke Robertson and his new bride Mary Kate (nee McEacharn) pack for college. The young couple got married at the Robertson’s family farm in West Monroe, Louisiana in June 2015. Mary Kate quit Louisiana Tech in order to plan the wedding.
Now John Luke and Mary Kate, both 20-years-old, are attending Liberty University together. Liberty University is the Christian university located in Lynchburg, Virginia founded by the late Jerry Falwell. Liberty is also known for being a popular presidential campaign stop and for partnering with Provident Films, which produced the Kirk Cameron 2014 film Saving Christmas. Duck Dynasty airs Wednesdays at 9:30pm on A&E.
