“Wes Anderson… has a very special kind of talent,” said directing legend Martin Scorsese. “He knows how to convey the simple joys and interactions between people so well and with such richness. This kind of sensibility is rare in movies.” Indeed, and Anderson’s sensibility is the kind that fires the imaginations of others, too.
As Anderson celebrates what Scorsese calls the interactions, so other artists interact with Anderson’s vision — with one marvelous result being the Wes Anderson Art Show. The 6th Annual Wes Anderson Art Show — August 7-9 at the Joseph Gross Gallery in New York City — will feature more than 70 artists creating works inspired by Anderson’s eight films. Artists include Valentin Fischer, Veronica Fish, Monica Garwood, Sam Gilbey, Rebecca Green, Lauren Gregg, Dominic Guidote, Justin Hager, Primary Hughes — and that’s just the Fs, Gs and Hs.
