On the new drama American Crime, Russ and Barb Skokie’s youngest son Mark (also a soldier) comes to Modesto to support his estranged parents after the brutal murder of his brother, Matt. Emotions run high when suspect Carter Nix is granted a bail hearing. Barb (Felicity Huffman) has been diligently trying to obtain a hate crime charge against Carter. (The Skokies are white. Carter Nix is black.)
Mark Skokie is portrayed by Swedish-born actor David Hoflin. He’s best known for his roles as Charlie in Crossbones with John Malkovich, William in Touch with Kiefer Sutherland, and (in Australia) as Tommy in Alcatraz, Oliver Barnes in Neighbours, and Jason Bates in Ocean Girl in the late 1990s. P.S. You pronounce his name “Daarvid” not “Dayvid.” He’s married to former Neighbours co-star Natalie Blair. They live in LA. American Crime airs Thursdays at 10pm on ABC.
