The rapper known as “The Jacka” (born Dominic Newton) was fatally shot in his hometown of Oakland, California. According to InsideBayArea, “Newton, who authorities believe still lived in Pittsburg, liked to hang out in the area, police were told. He was with several people at the time, some inside and some outside a van, when at least one shooter with a large caliber weapon started firing at them.”
The day after The Jacka’s death was announced, tweets from his verified Twitter account @theJacka continue to promote his latest album “Highway Robbery” and his videos “On My Toes” and “Cherry Pie.” The account has failed to mention the death of The Jacka, although his Instagram account has been suspended.
