Stand-up comedian Amy Schumer announced via every social media platform that she will host the televised 2015 MTV Movie Awards on April 12, 2015. With her tweet she embedded a photo of herself wearing sunglasses and a raggedy shawl. She’s holding an open prescription bottle. It looks like picture day at the nursing home.
Things are looking up for the 33-year-old who is clearly inspired by the Hallmark Cards Maxine character. In addition to her comedy series Inside Amy Schumer on Comedy Central, Schumer will star in the 2015 film Trainwreck which she co-wrote. Directed by Judd Apatow, Trainwreck will include cameos from actress Tilda Swinton, WWE wrestler John Cena and NBA star LeBron James, among other high-wattage celebrities.
