Rapper Bobby Shmurda was arrested in New York City today. He was waiting in a car outside Quad Recording Studios where Tupac Shakur was shot in 1994 (in the lobby). The New York Times reports Shmurda’s arrest was “part of an investigation into street violence, shootings and drug trafficking in Brooklyn.”
Details of arrests – there were more than a dozen – and the investigation are to be unsealed on Thursday in State Supreme Court in Manhattan. The 20-year-old Shmurda (born Ackquille Jean Pollard) was also arrested in June in Brooklyn. According to court papers, he was carrying a loaded 9-millimeter Glock handgun. In October, he was arrested for marijuana possession.
