Ray Liotta got an excited reception during his Reddit AMA this week. (He’s promoting Kill The Messenger, in theaters now. Trailer below.) Answering questions the Goodfellas icon revealed himself to be the same no-messin’-around guy that orders tequila in his 1800 commercial. That sauce he was stirring in Goodfellas? Not your everyday prop–Martin Scorsese’s mom made that sauce.
Liotta’s not bothered by the fact that “he’s been typecast as a dirty cop in recent years.”No I like playin it,” Liotta said. “Bad guys just stick out in people’s minds more.” On the two most important matters, which were grouped together in one question, Liotta answered both “what would be in your perfect sandwich?” and “Are there any fictional characters from literature that you would like to portray?” Ray Liotta: “Ham, cheese, salami, and hot mustard. And I used to always want to play Jesus. But none really come to mind right now.” Oh and Steely Dan is Ray Liotta’s favorite band.
