Actor Nick Cannon (Drumline) confirmed that he and Mariah Carey are no longer living together. Six years ago Cannon, then 27, married super diva Mariah Carey (Emotions, Butterfly, Glitter), then 38. Three years later they had twins. Carey had problems losing the 70 pounds she gained during her difficult pregnancy. She became a spokesperson for Jenny Craig and lost the weight. Carey became a judge on American Idol, which she “hated” and quit. Cannon became the loveable host of America’s Got Talent, a job he seems to enjoy. He’s taping the ninth season.
Although still worth about $510 million, Carey hasn’t seen the success of albums like Emotions for years. Her most recent album, Me. I Am Mariah…tanked. It sold just 58,000 in its first week. (Btw, Cannon is worth about $20 million.) Trying to turn her career around, Carey recently switched management (from Dupri to Jay Z’s manager Kevin Liles). With her separation from Cannon, looks like she’s going to try to turn a lot things around.
