Producers Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey are busy promoting their new dramedy “The Hundred-Foot Journey.” They’re appearing in TV commercials together and Winfrey has interviewed the star of the film, Helen Mirren, for O Magazine. Mirren plays a restaurant proprietress in the South of France who is threatened by an Indian family who opens a restaurant across the street. Winfrey choose the book on which the film is based, written by veteran Forbes writer Richard C. Morais, as a “favorite summer read” in 2010.
Oprah still holds the #1 slot on Forbes‘ list of The Most Powerful Celebrities. Spielberg is #3. Mr. Morais, whose latest novel is called Buddhaland Brooklyn, no longer works for Forbes. He now edits Barron’s Penta, which according to his website “offers insights and advice to wealthy families.” Psssst, Oprah, have I got a tip for you…
