With an ounce of gold valued at approximately $1,500, it’s no wonder why the Seattle Art Museum is planning to flash some serious art bling this fall. From golden threads of French brocades to powdered-gold lacquer boxes to ancient African earrings – the Museum is mining its decorative art archives and giving its nugget-sized neighbor, the Klondike Gold Rush Museum (also in Seattle), a run for their money.
The exhibition “Going for Gold” will open in time for Election Day (November 6). The candidate who makes more voters feel like their pocketbooks are lined with gold can expect victory.
