Watching the premiere episode of Total Bellas on September 6 is comforting because since filming the episodes, a lot of good things have happened to Brie and Nikki Bella. Brie had her baby with husband Daniel Bryan (a girl named Birdie!), and Nikki announced that she and her longtime “I will never get married” boyfriend John Cena are engaged and planning their wedding.
In the premiere episode, in the middle of a nice family dinner, Brie pulls Nikki away to talk about how her (as-yet-unborn baby) will never call John her uncle because “he’s never around” and goes so far to say “It’s not like she’s ever going to meet him.” When the twins return to the table, Cena tells them that everyone was talking about them the entire time they were gone. When Brie tells John he’s not an uncle yet to her baby, and that he’s gonna have to prove it to the family. She goes on to say, I thought you guys were going to come out and help just like we went out to help you after your surgeries (that was last season). When John replies, “So why isn’t Bryan here joining us tonight?” many around the table react to the burn with a group “Oooohhh.” Total Bellas at 9pm on E!
