The 48 Hours episode “Hunted” reveals how two detectives in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado hunted down a serial rapist. When they — Detective Stacy Galbraith, Sgt. Edna Hendershot — get the suspect, 33-year-old Marc Patrick O’Leary, into custody, he reveals how he hunted down his victims. O’Leary gave a chilling report about how different women reacted differently to him. Some would “scream at the top of their lungs” and others would “be quiet.” He also noted a difference within himself — when he was “normal” and when he was “rape guy.”
In 2011, the Army veteran O’Leary pleaded guilty to 28 counts of rape. He was sentenced to 327.5 years in prison, the maximum allowed by law. He will never be released. 48 Hours airs Saturdays at 9pm on and 10pm on CBS.
