TMZ was the first news outlet to report that two-time Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Tori Kelly had been hospitalized in Los Angeles this weekend after collapsing while out to dinner with friends. According to TMZ, the 30-year-old was diagnosed with blood clots in her legs and lungs.
The American Idol alum’s husband of five years, André Murillo, thanked her fans for their support on Instagram, where he wrote: “Tori is smiling again and feeling stronger. Not fully out of the woods but we see the sun. Just waiting on a few more answers.”
This morning, Kelly posted the handwritten note below.
She writes: “Of course I’m heartbroken about all the things I had planned for this week of releasing my EP.”
Tori Kelly’s new EP, tori, which includes her new single ‘missin u’ (see above) will be released this Friday, July 28. As she wrote in her note: “I won’t let this hurdle prevent the music being yours on Friday!”
Kelly’s fans and famous friends are showering her with good wishes for a speedy recovery. Even Sesame Street personality Elmo chimed in: “Get well soon, Miss. Tori! Elmo loves you.”
As seen above, Kelly and Elmo recently sang together (about bugs!) on The Not-Too-Late Show with Elmo on the beloved children’s show, Sesame Street.
