While promoting his new movie, Air, Hollywood movie star Ben Affleck (Good Will Hunting, Argo) surprised fans when he answered questions in fluent Spanish during an interview with a radio station in Spain. Fans went wild with praise (“He speaks Spanish very well!”) and some even claim “he speaks Spanish better than JLo!”
Affleck isn’t the only English-speaking Oscar winner who speaks another European language fluently. Russell Crowe (Gladiator, A Beautiful Mind, The Insider) also shocked fans when he spoke fluent Italian while promoting his band, Indoor Garden Party, and its European Tour.

Get ready to see more of Crowe: he will appear next on the big screen in the upcoming horror/thriller, The Georgetown Project. He plays a troubled actor “who begins to unravel while shooting a horror film.” Sam Worthington (Avatar), Chloe Bailey (The Little Mermaid) and David Hyde Pierce (Frasier) also star. The Georgetown Project is scheduled for a September 22, 2023 release.
