In the Great News episode “Love Is Dead,” Carol (Andrea Martin) learns that after 70 years of marriage her parents are getting a divorce. Meanwhile Carol’s daughter Katie (Briga Heelan) is still upset over her breakup with New York Times journalist Jeremy (Reid Scott). Although Carol is devastated about the news of her parents’ divorce, she’s determined to prove to Katie that love is not dead. To help prove her point, she brings her mother, Katie’s Grammy, to work.

Grammy is portrayed by Judith Roberts. The 83-year-old actress known for her roles on Orange Is the New Black (Taslitz), and in the films You Were Never Really Here (Joaquin Phoenix’s mother), Death Sentence with Kevin Bacon (Judge Shaw), Dead Silence (Mary Shaw), and David Lynch’s 1977 film Eraserhead (Beautiful Girl Across the Hall), among others.
