Born Tyrone Curtis Bogues, Muggsy grew up in the Lafayette Court housing projects in Baltimore. He played at Dunbar High School with coach Bob Wade (a former NFL player from the neighborhood who later became head coach at the University of Maryland), and finished his junior season 29-0 with the Dunbar Poets who were ranked first in the nation. After playing four years at Wake Forest University, Muggsy was selected by the Washington Bullets in the 1987 NBA draft. He went on to play for the Charlotte Hornets, Golden State Warriors, and Toronto Raptors. Despite being 5’3”, Bogues blocked 39 shots during his NBA career including one on 7-foot-tall Patrick Ewing in 1993. Fun fact: Bogues and Ewing appeared together in the movie starring Michael Jordan, Space Jam. Celebrity Family Feud airs Sundays at 8pm on ABC.
