In the New Girl Season 6 finale episode ‘Five Stars for Beezus’, Jess (Zooey Deschanel) finally leaves her father’s house in Portland and returns to New York. While she prepares to tell Nick (Jake Johnson) how she really feels about him (she loves him), Nick meets with a book publisher named Beezus.
Beezus is portrayed by Fred Willard. Actor Jake Johnson has wanted Willard on the show since 2012! (See tweet below.) Funnyman Willard is known for his roles on the sitcoms Modern Family (Phil’s father Frank) and Everybody Loves Raymond (Amy’s father Hank), and in tons of movies including Christopher Guest’s A Mighty Wind and Best in Show, among others. New Girl airs Tuesdays at 8pm on FOX.
I would love to see Fred Willard on New Girl as Nick Miller’s boss or Dad or anything. He’s one of the true greats.
