On the Season 4 premiere episode of The Originals, “Gather Up the Killers,” five years have passed. Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) welcome the unsired vampires to New Orleans on the fifth anniversary of Klaus Mikaelson’s (Joseph Morgan) defeat. Meanwhile, for the past five years, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) has been keeping the sleeping Mikaelsons safe while she desperately tries to cure their various ailments and ultimately find a way to wake them up so they can go back and get Klaus who’s sitting in Marcel’s dungeon. Marcel says, “I have him (Klaus) right where I want him.”
The producers of The Originals promise that Hayley will make a ruthless decision. One that involves leaving Hope Mikaelson behind in the care of Mary (Debra Mooney). Hope is now 7 and portrayed by Summer Fontana. The Originals airs Fridays at 8pm on CW.
