In the Reign episode ‘Highland Games,’ Queen Mary (Adelaide Kane) welcomes her nobles to the Highland Games and takes the opportunity to also inform them of her engagement to Lord Darnley (Will Kemp). Looks of disappointment and muttering take over the room. Nonetheless she proclaims, “Our marriage will mark a new day, not just for Scotland but for all who live on this Isle.” When she delivers the line, “Scotland will find strength in unity,” the nobles cheer. “Together we will prevail over the bastards who stand against us!” she says as she ultimately gets their support for the union. The bigger question is for how long and is Darnley to be trusted? Is he King material?
Fun fact: Lord Darnley is portrayed by actor Will Kemp who most recently played Scott the sexy baker on Bravo’s Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce. Reign airs Fridays at 9pm on CW.
