At the 89th Annual Academy Awards, the film La La Land has the most nominations (14) which is the most any film has ever received. The other two films nominated for 14 Oscars are Titanic (1997) and All About Eve (1950). All About Eve starred the legendary Bette Davis as Margo Channing, an aging Broadway star whose career and relationships are jeopardized when she befriends a young fan named Eve Harrington (Anne Baxter). All About Eve won 6 Oscars including Best Picture. (Titanic won 10 Oscars which made director James Cameron famously feel like he was on top of the world.)

All About Eve is based on the Mary Orr short story “The Wisdom of Eve” which was published in Cosmopolitan magazine in 1946. (Orr did not receive screen credit.) One of the funnier scenes includes a relatively unknown actress named Marilyn Monroe who plays Miss Casswell, a stunning aspiring actress. At a party, she’s introduced as “a graduate of the Copacabana school of dramatic arts.”
