The Lifetime TV movie Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le tells the life story (and is narrated by) R&B singer Michel’le. In the 1980s, when she met the members of the all-male rap group N.W.A. in Compton, she was initially teased for having a Minnie Mouse speaking voice. But things (including her voice) changed when she sang into a microphone. The TV movie also depicts her “tumultuous relationships with Dr. Dre and Suge Knight.” Michel’le had a son, Marcel, with Dr. Dre in 1991 and a daughter with Suge, Balei, in 2002.
