Shalyah Fearing is hard on herself, says Coach Adam Levine on The Voice. He adds “nobody means it more than Shalyah does.”Anybody who saw (and heard) Shalyah perform “A Change Is Gonna Come” on Monday night — part of the performance on her knees — can’t doubt that Levine is right: Shalyah means it, and means it, and means it.
Christina Aguilera didn’t doubt the passion either, and said Shalyah looked like a “vision of loveliness” too. But Xtina had a little trouble with Shalyah’s “low end.” It’ll come, Xtina told her — especially since she’s just 16 — but Coach Christina said Shalyah had to work on it. Aguilera is the best singer, far and away, among the coaches. And when she talks low ends and high, she’s the resident expert. Shalyah’s got plenty of time, but The Voice doesn’t. Maybe her high end will save her. Xtina said her high end was amazing, adding that Shalyah is “very authoritative.”
