One of the members of the Beauty Tribe on Survivor: Kaôh Rong — Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty is Tai Trang. The 51-year-old works for the City of San Francisco as a gardener. He has already proven that he is a true survivor. Born in 1964 in Vietnam, the middle of 11 children, Tai says, “All I remember about my childhood was war.” He recalls, “For six months straight we ate rice and soy sauce.”
The Trang family was able to escape Vietnam on a fishing boat and survived 11 days on the open sea before reaching an Indonesian refugee camp. In 1980s they emigrated to the States. In 1991, as a teenager, Tai moved to San Francisco. Tai says he will use his childhood on Survivor: “Being the middle child of 11 kids, I know how to get along and be the peacemaker. I can share my childhood war stories to pass time and charm people while bringing good spirit and harmony to the tribe.” Survivor: Kaôh Rong — Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty airs Tuesdays at 8pm on CBS.
