In the TV comedy Angie Tribeca, Rashida Jones plays the title character, an LAPD detective who takes on cases from the murder of a ventriloquist to a rash of baker suicides. It’s a spoof on all those police procedurals – CSI, Criminal Minds, Law & Order – and it’s produced by funny couple Steve and Nancy Carell to boot. Tribeca’s unit is the RHCU (Really Heinous Crimes Unit).

Tribeca’s new partner is Jay Geils, who’s portrayed by Hayes MacArthur. He’s best known for his roles on the TV shows Go On with Matthew Perry, Whitney (Lance), Suburgatory (Walter), and How I Met Your Mother (Curt “Ironman” Irons). among others. He’s also recognized for his roles in the films Life as We Know It, The Game Plan, She’s Out of My League, and Bachelorette. Angie Tribeca will premiere on January 17 beginning at 9pm on TBS. It’s a 24-hour marathon!
