On the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode “Assaulting Reality,” a contestant on the reality dating TV show Heart’s Desire claims, during a live broadcast, that she was raped on the set of the show. While Melanie (Comfort Clinton) claims she doesn’t remember consenting to having sex with the desired male character on the show, some of the other girls/contestants blame her for “crying rape” so she receives all of the media attention. The team investigates and interviews the creators of the show, Jeffrey and Regina Prince.
Jeffrey and Regina Prince are portrayed by veteran TV actors Michael Gross and Wendie Malick. Gross is best known for his roles on Family Ties (Steven Keaton), ER (Jack Carter Jr.) and Tremors — the TV show and films (Burt Gummer). Malick is best known for her roles on Hot in Cleveland (Victoria), Just Shoot Me! (Nina Van Horn), and on the current Rush Hour (Captain Lindsay Cole). Law & Order: Special Victims Unit airs Wednesdays at 9pm on NBC.
