Former American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert is returning to the show for the fifteenth and final season. On March 17, Lambert will perform his new hit, Welcome to the Show, featuring Laleh. The performance might not make as many people cry as Kelly Clarkson’s Piece by Piece performance on Idol, but “Welcome to the Show” is a touching song and Lambert and Laleh harmonize beautifully.
Laleh (born Laleh Pourkarim) is a Swedish singer/songwriter. Her self-titled debut album was the highest selling album of 2005 in Sweden. Since then she’s released four more albums. She can sing in Swedish, English, and her parents’ native tongue, Persian. In 2014, Laleh moved to Los Angeles where she released her Boom EP. She co-wrote three songs on Demi Lovato’s Confident album including “Stone Cold” and co-wrote “Should’ve Been Us” for Tori Kelly’s first album Unbreakable Smile. American Idol airs Thursdays at 8pm on FOX.
