The upcoming Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue has been making fresh waves lately, featuring Kim Kardashian for the first time and seeming to go in a different direction. (“The journey we’ve been on—to break out of the mold the world put us in,” says editor MJ Day.)
But in what some are calling a “Sports Illustrated who?” moment, the multifaceted superstar Jennifer Lopez just reminded her fans that no swimsuit issue of any sort is complete without JLo. The third swipe is live action modeling.
Long before Kardashian broke the Internet with her famous derriere, Lopez was turning heads with a similar asset, while also making music, dance, movies, businesses, and fashion icon moments — acting, singing, producing and more. On her gram, Lopez is promoting Virgin Voyages — and doing one heck of a job, too.
Lopez is one of the super multi-hyphenate performers. But even so, how could anyone expect this level of string bikini modeling? And all she had to do was say “Summer mode: activated.”
That’s a superhero style invocation. Maybe it’s not Sports Illustrated next for JLo, but the Marvel Universe?
