Superstar and pop icon Ariana Grande has few equals when it comes to Instagram — the delightful and beautiful young singer rules the platform with a keep-em-guessing combination of sweet and sultry shares.
The most recent entry in the grand Grande Instagram archive definitely falls into the sultry category: the diva Ariana wearing wings challenging viewers with a sultry stare while clad (barely) in lace with what appears to be a pearl choker around her neck.
Since Victoria’s Secret has recently sort of owned the idea of women in wings and lace, the picture at first conjures up the idea of Grande as a Victoria’s Secret angel. But whereas many supermodels use the Victoria’s Secret platform to enhance their reach and fame, Grande already has far more followers on social media than the popular Victoria’s Secret account.
Ariana Grande, in other words, is her own independent angel.
Grande’s angel, of course, is a Charlie’s Angel, the film she’s starring in with Lana Del Rey and Miley Cyrus. Ariana gets all meta in the photo, because the new single from the trio is called, natch, “Don’t Call Me Angel.” (See below.) People are calling Arian “Angel” anyway.
