In the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode “Part 33,” a woman named Annabeth Pearl (guest star Amy Rutberg, Marvel’s Daredevil) is on trial for murdering her husband Thomas. One hour after the murder, she was found by NYPD officers in a restaurant, still carrying the gun.
Annabeth confessed. The prosecutor, Benjamin Stone (Philip Winchester), tells the jury that it’s a simple case — but Annabeth’s defense attorney Stella Russell (Paula Malcomson, Ray Donovan) tells the jury his client was a victim of psychological abuse and that killing her husband was an act of self-preservation. Testimony from NYPD detectives on the case (Benson, Carisi, Fin and Rollins) are key to the case in court. They are not all in agreement. And then there’s the testimony from Detective Frank Bucci.
