On Season 2 of Family by the Ton, the cameras continue to follow the Anderson family and their incredible weight loss journey together with the help of Dr. Procter. And a new family who is facing the life and death consequences of morbid obesity is also featured. One of them is Amanda King, a young woman who weighs 625 lbs. She’s been living with cancer for two years.

In October 2016, Amanda was diagnosed with endometrial cancer which is caused in some part by being obese. “So I feel like I did it to myself,” she cries. “Or maybe it’s my punishment for abusing my body.” She doesn’t know if the cancer is growing or if it’s spread.
Amanda is told that she needs to lose more than half her body weight, approximately 312 lbs., before she can have her cancer surgically removed. “Every day that I don’t do anything about my weight is one step closer to the grave for me,” says Amanda, who admits to eating a large pizza and a pan of brownies daily. Family by the Ton airs Wednesdays at 10 pm on TLC, right after My 600-lb Life.
