One of the most painful couples to watch on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, is Darcey and Jesse. In Season 1, Darcey visited the 24-year-old male model in Amsterdam and left thinking she was going to get an engagement ring. In Season 2, Jesse is living with the 42-year-old mother of two teenage girls in her Connecticut home, and the tension between the couple continues to rise. In the episode “Seeds of Doubt,” Darcey tries to put together a grocery list for the dinner she plans to make for Jesse and her daughters. It’s a big deal for Darcey and she wants Jesse to be excited. But when Darcey asks Jesse for his input — pasta, potatoes, chicken? — Jesse clams up. His silence frustrates Darcey, who is wearing a gigantic diamond ring and what appears to be a wedding band on her left, ring finger.
Darcey tells Jesse that she sees this dinner as a peek into what their future could look like. She imagines them getting married and living together, spending time with her daughters. Maybe it would help if she took off those rings which one would presume are from her first marriage. This couple reminds us of the Bonnie Raitt song, “I Can’t Make You Love Me.” 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days airs Sundays at 8pm on TLC.
