The White House has been the backdrop for many successful television series over the years. The latest being the CBS drama Madam Secretary, now in its fourth season. This politically charged storyline shares the ins-and-outs of the West Wing from the perspective of the Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord (Tea Leoni). To help keep America safe, the Secretary often turns to husband Henry McCord (Tim Daly), who leads the CIA’s Special Activities Division (SAD). One of McCord’s analysts is Molly Reid, who returned to the team earlier this season after being on maternity leave.
Molly Reid is portrayed by Christine Garver and it appears that art does imitate life in her case. Not only was the character Garver portrays pregnant on the show, but the actress was actually pregnant in real life (see cute photo below). Garver is best known for her recurring role as Moira, Ted Chaough’s secretary, on Mad Men and for portraying Sally Field’s younger self on Brothers & Sisters. Her television credits also include roles on NCIS, Criminal Minds, and Stitchers. Born in Hawaii, raised in Los Angeles, Garver has also cultivated a following online with several comedy viral videos and the relationship web series, The Breakup Diaries, she co-created. Up next, Garver will be making an appearance on the FOX sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine later this season. Madam Secretary airs Sundays at 10pm on CBS, right after NCIS: New Orleans.
